WoDEF 2020
In 2020, most actions planned for public spaces were cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. An appeal by the international coordinators and the founder associations, Pour l'Égalité Animale and La Question aquatique, resulted in a huge amount of support, in the form of the sharing of photos of original placards demanding the abolition of fishing made by activists who, though confined in their homes, were determined not to allow this important date to pass unnoticed. Thanks to all of you for this impressive collection of 200 slogans. The message is clear: fishing and aquaculture farms must be abolished!
More than 100 actions planned before the crisis...
Before the pandemic, actions were being organised in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and, for the very first time, in Russia and Switzerland. Online campaigns were already being set up, as they are each year.
WoDEF 2019
In 2019, 18 countries on 4 continents organized about 120 actions for aquatic animals! Here is a retrospective in photos and videos.
